Eucharistic Ministers
Ministers of Holy Communion or Eucharistic ministers assist the
priest in the distribution of the Body and Blood of Christ
at communion
on Sundays and weekday masses. Eucharistic Ministers also bring
Holy Communion to the sick in their homes. Individuals who feel
that they are called to be Eucharistic Ministers within the parish
please contact the Parish Priest to be trained.
Readers
Ministers of the Word or Readers have the important task of proclaiming
the Word of God, contained in the Holy Scriptures at Sundays
and weekday Masses. If you would like to train to be a Reader
please
speak to the Parish Priest.
Altar Servers
For hundreds of years young people have assisted priests by
serving at Mass. If you are in Year 3 and would like to
train to become
a server please speak to Fr Richard.
Sacristans
Sacristans look after and care for the vessels and vestments,
prepare the church for Mass and have a general care
for the church’s
furnishings. If you would like to help in this ministry
especially for the Sunday masses please contact the Parish Priest.
Parish Music Ministry
Music and singing is a very significant aspect of our
liturgical gatherings. At the moment we are establishing
a Choir which
normally sings at the 11.30am masses on alternative
Sundays. Choir Reherseals
are normally held on Sunday after 11.30am mass.
Youth Group
The Youth group meets in the Hall every Sunday
from 6.00pm – 9.00pm.
The meetings usually has two aspects. The Youth group gather for
the first hour to socialise, to play games together or to share -
then in the next hour we become more creative – we
rehearse, sing or dance.
The Youth has organised a dramatisation of
the Stations of the Cross on Palm Sunday 2005
in
the parish. It
was called – The Passion – through
the eyes of others. It was a very uplifting and
spiritual experience for all present.
